  • Follow-ups don’t count toward the new-contact daily limit — sequence follow-ups can continue after you hit the new-DM cap.
  • The 500/day allowance is per connected X account, not per workspace.
  • With your own X API key (BYOK), sending runs through your own X developer app, so each account’s allowance is whatever your X API tier allows — Set up your X API integration.
  • Confirm your plan in Plans and credits.

Ramp up gradually

Treat your allowance as a ceiling, not a target. Start at a few DMs per hour and raise volume over one to two weeks — on BYOK too, where the allowance is higher. Conservative starting points, not thresholds published by X: To control the pace:
  • Launch smaller lead lists and add leads in batches.
  • Spread sends across a send window — Scheduling across time zones.
  • Hold each increase for a few days and watch your reply rate.
  • Step back down if sends show as undelivered or failed — Undelivered · Failed to send.
