Leads fall into two buckets: reachable (can receive DMs) and unreachable (X will not deliver). Inboxapp filters unreachable profiles so you don’t waste sends.

Reachable

Reachable leads can receive your DMs. Typically they:
  • Have open or allowed messaging settings
  • Allow DMs from non-followers, or already follow you
  • Are active and in good standing on X

Unreachable

Unreachable leads are filtered out because X won’t deliver DMs. Common cases:
  • Inactive, deleted, or suspended accounts
  • Private accounts that restrict incoming messages
  • Users who disabled DMs or opted out
  • Closed or restricted DM settings (including verified-only DMs)

How filtering works

Before a campaign send (and when evaluating imports), Inboxapp runs checks such as:
  1. Excluded lists — remove anyone on lists you chose to exclude
  2. Reachability — remove profiles that can’t receive DMs
This is automatic. You don’t need to remove unreachable leads by hand.

If too many leads are filtered

  • Import fresher or more active audiences
  • Review your excluded lists
  • Target profiles more likely to have open DMs
  • Make sure your starting list is large enough after filtering
