The MCP server exposes every API v2 operation as a tool. An AI client can list threads, read messages, update contacts and send messages from your accounts.

Server URL

Authentication

Two ways to connect:

Add the server URL to your client. It opens Inboxapp in your browser, where you pick the team to connect and approve access. No token to copy. Review or disconnect connected apps in Settings → Integrations, under Connected apps.

API token

Pass an API token in the Authorization header.

Client setup

Claude Code

Claude Desktop

Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and enter the server URL.

Cursor

Add to .cursor/mcp.json in your project root:

Tools

Each API operation is one tool, named after the operation: threads_list, messages_send, contacts_update, platforms_list. A tool takes the operation’s path, query and body fields as its arguments, and returns the same JSON as the API. Read tools are marked read-only, and deletions are marked destructive, so clients can ask before running them.
Sending, editing or deleting a message reaches a real person from your own account. Keep confirmation on for write tools.

Limits

MCP calls count toward the same rate limits as the API, and fail with the same error codes.
