# Undelivered icon

> What the red undelivered icon means on older encrypted messages, and why no action is usually required.

A red **undelivered** icon marks an older encrypted message that may not have reached the recipient after X tightened encryption-key checks.

**If you did not enable XChat before 21 Jan 2026, you are not affected.**

## What to do

No action is required for these older indicators. New messages send with current encryption.

Your messages are still visible in Inboxapp. If the other person already replied, they received your messages.
