# Chrome extension troubleshooting

> Fix a missing Inboxapp icon, linking failures, and common extension sync problems.

Most sync and linking issues start with the Chrome extension.

## Checklist

1. Install the [Inboxapp Chrome extension](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/inbox/manipndiogdfeenejomojogbbcbenioe) from the official Chrome Web Store.
2. On [x.com](https://x.com), confirm you’re logged into the correct X account.
3. Look for the **Inboxapp floating icon**. If it’s missing, remove and reinstall the extension, then refresh x.com.
4. Click the icon → select the account → **Link**.
5. In Inboxapp, open **Linked Accounts** and confirm the account shows as connected.
6. For XChat, enter your **XChat PIN** when asked — [What is XChat](/help/getting-started-with-inboxapp/what-is-xchat-and-how-use-it-with-our-platform).

## Still not syncing?

Follow [Messages not syncing](/help/troubleshooting/messages-not-syncing-try-these-fixes), including the IndexedDB reset if the extension is linked but nothing updates.
