# Reachable leads and the Contacted list

> System lists, why some leads can't receive DMs, and how Inboxapp avoids messaging people twice.

<Note>Available on Pro. See [Plans](/get-started/plans).</Note>

## System lists

Inboxapp maintains two lists automatically:

| List | Who's on it | Purpose |
| - | - | - |
| **Contacted** | Everyone you've ever messaged across your linked accounts, including history synced into Inboxapp | Prevent duplicate outreach |
| **Mutual** | People who follow you and whom you follow back | Network overlap |

If you message someone from several linked accounts, every one of those conversations counts. Both lists are ready once DM sync finishes — [How Inboxapp syncs your DMs](/help/get-started/sync).

## Reachable vs unreachable

**Reachable** leads can receive your DMs. They typically have open or allowed messaging settings, accept DMs from non-followers or already follow you, and are active and in good standing.

**Unreachable** leads are filtered out because the platform won't deliver to them:

* Inactive, deleted, or suspended accounts
* Private accounts that restrict incoming messages
* Users who disabled DMs or opted out
* Closed or restricted DM settings, including verified-only DMs

## How filtering works

When you launch a campaign (and when imports are evaluated), Inboxapp:

1. Removes anyone on your **excluded lists** — including **Contacted**, if you exclude it
2. Removes profiles that can't receive DMs

This is automatic; you don't remove unreachable leads by hand. To skip people you've already messaged, exclude Contacted — [Sending pace and duplicates](/help/sales/pacing).

## If too many leads are filtered

* Import fresher or more active audiences
* Review your excluded lists
* Target profiles more likely to have open DMs
* Start with a list large enough to survive filtering
