# X DMs and XChat in Inboxapp

> Manage X DMs and encrypted XChat in Inboxapp: send media, react, answer message requests, and track contacts. Runs in the cloud.

Inboxapp brings all your X DMs into one inbox, including encrypted **XChat** conversations. [Link your account](/help/get-started/link-accounts) and everything syncs in the background.

  **Runs in the cloud.** Once your account is linked, Inboxapp keeps working
  without you. You don't need your browser or X open, and teammates can manage
  the account from their own computers.

| **Send media** | Images, videos, GIFs, voice notes, and files |
| **Handle message requests** | See and answer DMs from people you don't follow |

| **Follow and unfollow** | Follow or unfollow people from Inboxapp |
| **Track contacts** | Statuses, tags, notes, and assignees on every contact |
| **Work as a team** | Share the inbox and assign conversations |

Typing indicators work both ways, so you see when someone is writing back.
