# Troubleshooting lead imports

> Fixes for CSV column errors, follower import limits, filtering, and slow imports.

| Problem                                    | Fix                                                                                                                                                                        |
| ------------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| CSV missing `username` or `id` / `user_ID` | Add a required column. See [Import leads from a CSV](/help/leads-management/importing/importing-leads-to-inboxapp-from-a-csv-file)                                         |
| File too large or messy                    | Import smaller batches                                                                                                                                                     |
| Follower import smaller than expected      | Check plan limits in **Settings → Billing**                                                                                                                                |

| Previously contacted leads removed         | Expected when excluded lists / Contacted protection apply — [Contacted list](/help/leads-management/concepts/how-the-contacted-list-protects-you-from-duplicate-messaging) |
| Import seems slow                          | Imports run in the background; refresh the list after a few minutes                                                                                                        |
