# Set up your X API integration

> Create a pay-per-use X developer app and connect it to Inboxapp for a higher daily DM allowance.

Connecting your own X developer app (BYOK) raises your daily DM allowance to whatever your X API tier allows — [Daily DM limits](/help/campaigns/limits-and-safety/how-many-dms-can-i-send-per-day-on-x-twitter-with-inboxapp).

You pay X directly for API usage.

## 1. Set up your X developer account

Sign in to the X account that should own the developer account, then go to [console.x.com](https://console.x.com). Accept the developer agreement and enter your use case if you haven’t already.

## 2. Create a pay-per-use app

1. Open **Apps** in the left sidebar and select the **Pay Per Use** category.
2. Click **Create App**.
3. Name the app, set the environment to **Production**, and click **Create New Client Application**.
4. Click **Close** — you don’t need the consumer key, secret key, or bearer token.

## 3. Set user authentication settings

Refresh the page, open your new app, and go to **Keys & Tokens** → **User authentication settings** → **Set up**.

| Type of App     | **Web App, Automated App or Bot** |
| Callback URI    | Copy it from Inboxapp             |
| Website URL     | Any URL (required by X, unused)   |

Click **Save Changes**, then copy the **Client ID** and **Client Secret** into Inboxapp. Those two values authenticate the integration.

## 4. Purchase credits

In the X console, go to **Billing** → **Credits** and buy a prepaid amount. Turn on **auto recharge** so sending doesn’t stop mid-campaign.

## 5. Authorize your accounts

Back in Inboxapp, authorize each X account individually, then enable the integration.
